ONTHE OUTSIDE
Bat | For the black color of her fur► BRIEF,
A lithe, black molly with yellow eyes
► APPEARANCE,
Batpounce is a lithe, wiry feline with powerful legs built for pouncing on and chasing down prey. Her body is covered with a coat of sleek, medium length black fur allowing her to blend in well with the darkness of her clan's territory, this black fur is marred however, by three long scars on her left flank. Her eyes, are yellow in color and seem to almost glow with an innate curiosity at most times, giving her a look similar to an innocent kit, young and full of wonder and amazement for the world around her. She is somewhat small in comparison to other females of her age, not too much so but still a fair bit small, this isn't helped much by the way she constantly seems to shrink back and make herself seem smaller than others, a habit she can't seem to correct no matter how hard she tries.

THEFAMILY
MOTHER // name etc.
FATHER // Darknose

AHISTORY
Batkit was born as the result of a short fling between a kind-hearted tom named Darknose and a particularly aggressive she-cat named Shadeheart and was the first kit to be born in a litter of just two kittens. She grew up alongside her brother Stonekit and for the most part, the two got along rather well, oftentimes preferring to play with one another than with the other kits in the nursery. Their father would even drop by to visit them whenever he returned from his warrior duties and would often take some time to play with the duo before heading back to the warrior den to get some rest. However, despite the fairly pleasant lives the little duo seemed to have, it wouldn't stay like that for very long.
Shadeheart was a cat known for her anger issues and on this particular day, about a moon before Stonekit and Batkit were to become apprentices, a fight broke out between their parents that resulted in Shadeheart being infuriated for the rest of the day. Batkit, not liking how her mother was acting as a result of her anger, made an attempt to calm the queen down. To this very day the words she had said are a blur in her mind, the only thing she could remember was talking to her mother to try and calm her down, only to be met with a blow to the side from her mother's paw, claws unsheathed and all. Her brother rushed to her side immediately upon seeing his sibling get struck, only to suffer a similar blow to the throat and chest.
It wasn't long before one of the clan's warriors heard the ruckus from outside and decided to come check out the source of the noise. The warrior, upon seeing Shadeheart injure her kits took action and managed to restrain the dark-furred warrior before she did anymore damage tio the kits. However, the injuries that had already been done to the kits were great and despite getting them to the medicine cat as quickly as possibly, Stonekit died shortly after from bloodloss and Batkit was left with the long scars across her left flank as a constant reminder of that day. Shadeheart was effectively exiled from Shadowclan for the murder of Stonekit and has not been seen since her exile, leaving only Darknose to care for Batkit.
The trauma of witnessing her brother's death left a massive impact on Batkit, as she was now convinced that her brother had died because of her. If she had only kept her mouth shut and not said anything, then perhaps he would still be alive and their mother would still be a part of the clan. This thought would frequently haunt her mind and stayed with her into her apprenticeship. She also became far more timid than she had been, constantly on edge and worried about the things she says or does, doing her best to avoid speaking to others and to picking her words carefully when she has to, to avoid having a repeat of the past.
Despite this, Batpaw's apprenticeship went fairly well, though she struggled a bit with learning a few battle techniques as it seemed she was rather reluctant to fight and would often cringe or flinch when practicing these moves. She did discover though, that she excelled in hunting and even enjoyed it a bit, loving the thrill that came from a successful catch and especially enjoying the taste of the frogs she caught. It was only a matter of training as hard as she could to master those techniques she had difficulty leaning before she would be able to pass her warriors assessment and get her warrior name.
Before she even knew it, Batpaw had become a warrior, all of her hard work having paid off and earning her the name Batpounce. She still carried with her the timid nature she had developed as a kit, but now had begun trying to fight it, bit by bit. She decided that it would be in her best interest to start trying to be more social and talk with her clanmates, reminding herself that it was unlikely that the event that took her brother from her would occur again. So, little by little she began making efforts to get over her fear of conversing with other cats and even found that she enjoys talking to others and to this very day she is continuing to make progress towards overcoming her fears.
